Kahlil McKenzie was Tennessee’s most shocking declaration of the offseason. Now, he’s found a new home. The Kansas City Chiefs selected McKenzie with the 198th overall pick in the sixth round.
McKenzie joins Rashaan Gaulden (Panthers) and John Kelly (Rams) as Tennessee’s drafted players this weekend.
A former five star recruit, McKenzie never lived up to the hype as a Volunteer. He’s got undeniable NFL size at 6-3, 320 pounds, but he didn’t exactly live up to that hype on the defensive line.
Now the Chiefs appear set to take him on as a project. They’ll attempt to convert him to an offensive guard.

Maybe they can harness some of that raw ability and rework him as an offensive lineman. McKenzie has an uphill climb here to make sure he sticks on the roster.
