According to GoVols247, Tennessee will be hosting four-star center D.J. Burns for a visit this Thursday. The 6-9, 255 pound big man is out of Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Burns is the 74th ranked player in 2019 class and the 18th ranked center, according to 247 Sports.
Tennessee, South Carolina and Auburn are in the mix for Burns. North Carolina and Clemson are also on his list, but have yet to extend offers yet. The crystal ball projections point towards Tennessee, South Carolina and Clemson equally at this point.
Burns took an unofficial visit to Tennessee back in December during the North Carolina game.
Rick Barnes currently has one commit in the 2019 class in the form of Davonte Gaines — a three-star small forward prospect out of New York. That 2019 class currently projects to have three scholarships open, with Admiral Schofield, Chris Darrington and Kyle Alexander set to move on. Of course, that can (and likely will) change.
Tennessee currently has just one spot available on the 2018 roster, which they are actively trying to fill with another point guard.
