The Tennessee Volunteers emerged victorious today over the Auburn Tigers, picking up a massive commitment from top tackle prospect Wanya Morris. Morris announced his decision alongside three teammates, who each committed this afternoon.
“l’d like to commit to the University of Tennessee,” Morris said live on Fox 5 Atlanta. “It came down to who is going to look after me after football. I think Coach Pruitt is going to look out for me.”
Morris is a 6-6, 293 pound tackle and a top 50 player, according to 247 Sports. He is a four-star prospect and the 7th highest rated tackle in the country. The Grayson High School product holds offers from just about every major power in college football today.
He is Tennessee’s fifth commitment of their 2019 class and the second offensive lineman, joining four-star guard Jackson Lampley. Morris’ commitment is huge for the Vols, who have a clear need up front on the offensive line. Morris was arguably the biggest target on the board for Tennessee. His presence gives Jeremy Pruitt and staff a building block for this class and beyond.
