Following the commitment of four-star receiver Ramel Keyton, Tennessee has vaulted up in the current 2019 recruiting class rankings, according to both Rivals and 247 Sports. Despite having just seven current members in the class, the Vols currently sit inside the top 20 for both media outlets.
Rivals: 16th (7th in the SEC)
247 Sports: 19th (8th in the SEC)
Recruiting rankings in May are admittedly not that big of a deal, but this class is coming along nicely after a bit of a sluggish start.
Jeremy Pruitt and his staff had an outstanding month of May, headlined by the addition of five-star offensive tackle Wanya Morris out of Georgia. A top 25 overall player, Morris should anchor this 2019 class and could potentially help the Vols add more down the road.
Tennessee has added two more players from Georgia since then, landing three-star tight end Sean Brown and now Ramel Keyton. That means four of seven Tennessee commitments have come from the Peach State. Oddly enough, each of the last three commitments have chosen Tennessee over Auburn.
According to Tennessee assistant coach Joe Osovet, another commitment could be coming soon. Stay tuned.
