The meeting will be the third in the last four years between the teams, all on neutral courts.
The Vols lost 86-79 to the Zags in Seattle in 2015, despite a furious second half comeback. In 2016, the teams met in Nashville and Tennessee fell 86-86 to the eventual national runner-up.
The 2018 game is slated as part of the Jerry Colangelo Classic, which will take place on Dec. 9 in Phoenix. Both Tennessee and Gonzaga are projected to begin the season ranked inside the Top 10.
Tennessee adds Gonzaga to a non-conference schedule which already includes games against Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Memphis and two of Kansas, Louisville and Marquette in the NIT Tip-Off.
