Report: Tennessee adds offensive lineman to 2018 class

The Vols pick up a reinforcement on the OL.

According to Saturday Down South’s Dan Harralson, Tennessee is set to add another offensive lineman to their 2018 class. Harralson reports that Jarious Abercrombie will be joining the Vols as early as next week.

Tennessee had a need for another body on their offensive line with so much uncertainty entering the season. The Vols will get by up front, assuming Trey Smith and Chance Hall come back healthy. Each player missed spring camp. Still, as we saw last year, things can happen in a hurry. Having depth up front is a must.

The Vols now add Abercrombie into the mix, who stands in at 6-6, 320 pounds. He’s a virtual unknown in the recruiting world. 247 Sports and Rivals don’t even have a profile up for him.

Tennessee has yet to confirm the addition.

This situation may remind you of the Jordan Young discovery earlier in the year. The Tennessee staff discovered Young and immediately received a commitment from him, only for Florida State to swoop in and snatch him up after recruiting services placed a four-star ranking on him.

We will update this post with any new details that may emerge.
