So maybe Tennessee’s 2018-19 scholarship situation isn’t a cut and dry as we thought it was. According to a report from SBNation’s own Ellie Lieberman, Khwan Fore has reopened his recruitment.
Richmond transfer Khwan Fore (@khwanfore_said) planned to transfer to Tennessee in the fall. He told me today he is reopening his recruitment. He averaged 11 ppg, 3.2 rpg and 2.7 apg last year.

After committing to Tennessee nearly a month ago, the grad-transfer is now considering other options, according to Lieberman.
Tennessee has two scholarship openings to fill on what is sure to be a loaded roster returning this season. Backup point guard James Daniel and reserve guard Chris Darrington were the only departures for Rick Barnes this offseason.
Fore figured to fill the role that Daniel played last season, but his status is now up in the air. For what it’s worth, Tennessee never officially confirmed or officially announced Fore as a part of their roster.
If Fore doesn’t join the Vols, it would leave Rick Barnes with a hole in his guard rotation. Jordan Bone, Lamonte Turner and Jordan Bowden are the main contributors returning. Rick Barnes is high on Jalen Johnson, who could fill a spot if needed.
We’ll update this situation with any new details that emerge.
