According to Austin Price of Volquest.com, Thompson will enroll in classes at Tennessee this summer. Thompson announced before signing day that he would not sign with South Carolina, where he had been committed to since December 13th of last year. Today, Thompson is a Vol.
The 6-0, 180 pound athlete could find a home as a cornerback or as a receiver in Knoxville. Tennessee has a more immediate need in the secondary, however. It will be interesting to see which side of the ball Thompson lands to start.
According to 247 Sports, Thompson is the 301st ranked player in the 2018 class. He is the 12th ranked athlete in the country and the 5th ranked prospect out of the state of South Carolina.
