Tennessee makes top five for four-star tackle Warren McClendon Jr.

One clear focus for Jeremy Pruitt, Tyson Helton and Will Friend in the 2019 class so far has been the offensive line. The previous regime didn’t leave too much depth behind, forcing the new staff to really go after offensive lineman hard during their first full recruiting cycle at Tennessee.

The Vols already have two offensive lineman committed to their 2019 class in Wanya Morris and Jackson Lampley, but they’re looking for more. You can never have enough depth up front, as Tennessee fans know all too well.

This week, four-star tackle Warren McClendon Jr. included the Vols in his top five. Auburn, Georgia, Florida and South Carolina joined them.

McClendon is 6-5, 290 pounds and comes out of Brunswick, Georgia. He is the 28th ranked prospect out of the loaded state of Georgia and checks in at 248th overall, according to 247 Sports.

South Carolina is the favorite to land McClendon, due in part to the fact that he is the cousin of Gamecocks’ offensive coordinator Bryan McClendon. McClendon has visited Florida, South Carolina and Georgia so far this spring.
