Tennessee will host ETSU to open the home slate at Neyland Stadium on September 8, beginning at 4 PM and will play UTEP the following week at noon the official Tennessee football twitter account announced. Both games will air on the SEC Network.
Despite the close proximity between both campuses, Tennessee and ETSU will meet for the first time. The Buccaneers will be coming to Knoxville under first-year head coach Randy Sanders who is a former quarterback and offensive coordinator at Tennessee.
The Vols will meet UTEP for only the third time in program history, having beaten the Miners in the previous two contests in 1986 and 1990.
