Tennessee hosts two top cornerbacks over the weekend

Could these two be Tennessee’s answer at a position of need?

What Jeremy Pruitt and the Tennessee staff have done on the recruiting trail to this point has been nothing short of spectacular. The Vols currently sit 16th nationally, according to 247 Sports, showing 11 commitments. However, they’ve yet to find their answers at cornerback.

Working hard to change that, Tennessee hosted two of the top cornerback talents in the nation over the weekend. Both prospects just happened to be out of the state of Alabama, which you know Pruitt knows well.

First up was Jaydon Hill, a 6-0, 172 pound four-star 2019 prospect.

Hill has plenty of offers, but his recruitment seems to be centered around Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi State and South Carolina. Hill also saw the Vols back in late April of this year. He is the 135th ranked player and the 13th ranked cornerback in the country, according to 247 Sports.

Joining Hill was 2020 prospect Malachi Moore, who is expected to be one of the nation’s best cornerbacks in his class. It was Moore’s second look at Knoxville since March.

Here you can see both Hill and Moore posing together for pictures.

The SEC offers are already flooding in for Moore and the early crystal ball projections are pointing towards Alabama. File Moore’s name away for now.

For now, Hill is the guy to watch. South Carolina has long been thought of as the leader, but Tennessee does seem to be close behind. Was this weekend enough to make up some ground?
