Tennessee offers 2022 quarterback Ty Simpson

A name to remember... way down the road.

If you’re a can’t miss prospect, teams are going to find you — quickly. Even if you haven’t taken a single snap in high school yet. That’s the case here with quarterback Ty Simpson out of Martin, Tennessee. The class of 2022 passer is already 6-1, 170 pounds heading into his freshman season.

Simpson already has a handful of big offers, now he can add in-state Tennessee to that list. Jeremy Pruitt offered him earlier this week, as documented by this tweet.

Simpson has already been offered by Michigan, South Carolina, Ole Miss, LSU, Mississippi State, and Kentucky.

Simpson’s father — Jason Simpson — is the head coach at Tennessee-Martin. There’s little doubt that Jason is working with his son for the time being, but Ty has yet to even receive high school coaching. That’s going to change this fall, but his future coach has gotten a head start on Simpson’s game. Here’s what he told Landof10.com.

“As a quarterback, I’d just describe him as fundamentally sound,” Cantrell told Land of 10. “He does all the things older quarterbacks can do. He does it better.” (Via Land of 10)

So what does all this mean to you right now? Not a whole lot. Simpson still has to take his first high school class and learn to drive. But I am always fascinated at how soon the process begins for these kids.
