Jalyn Phillips SBNation Recruiting

Tennessee has made the top four for yet another prospect out of the state of Georgia. This time it’s Jalyn Phillips, a 6-1 safety out of Lawrenceville. The 2019 defensive back is set to announce his commitment on August 20th.

Joining the Vols are three heavy hitters — Oklahoma, Alabama and Clemson.

Phillips is currently a three-star prospect. He is the 35th ranked safety and the 410th ranked player in the 2019 class, according to 247 Sports. Clemson currently has two crystal ball projections for Phillips.

Tennessee has one safety in four-star Anthony Harris committed to their 2019 class. Aaron Beasley, classified as an athlete, could also fit as a safety.

On the field, Phillips is known as a finisher. He shows a really nice ability to diagnose and close — and he’ll flatten you. There’s a reason why three of the nation’s top five programs are coming after him.

Here’s a quick look at what he brings to the table.
