Tennessee linebacker Ryan Thaxton was arrested on Sunday night and charged with domestic assault and false imprisonment. The charges stem from a Sunday night argument with his girlfriend.
Tennessee 2nd year football player Ryan Thaxton was arrested Sunday at 8:23 PM and and charged with domestic assault and false imprisonment of his girlfriend, per arrest report. Report says Thaxton pushed and forced girl into his room and refused to let her leave. Bond: $1500

The Knoxville News Sentinel has the details of the situation, per the report.
Records state Thaxton, a second-year defensive lineman, pushed his girlfriend toward his room when she refused to accompany him to his dorm. Thaxton then carried her inside the dorm room, where an argument took place, and he blocked the door when she attempted to leave, according to records. (Via Knoxnews.com)
Thaxton has been suspended from all team activities.

Thaxton was thought of as a depth piece on the edge for Tennessee coming into camp. He did not play last season, but Thaxton at least had a chance to compete for some playing time at a position of need.
