Tennessee makes the cut for pass rusher out of New York

Can the Vols pull one from up north?

NCAA Football: Tennessee at Missouri Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

When you think Tennessee recruiting, the northeast might just be the last region you think of. But that’s exactly where the Vols have ended up, going after one of the top prospects in the country. Edge defender Adisa Isaac has caught the eye of plenty of schools from the south and even included a few in his top ten list, which was released on Sunday.

Tennessee made the cut, joining Florida, Rutgers, Michigan, Texas A&M, LSU, Boston College, Syracuse, Nebraska and Penn State.

Isaac is the No. 1 prospect in the state of New York by a wide margin. The 6-5, 215 pound pass rusher is considered a four-star recruit and lands inside of 247 Sports’ top 150 players for 2019. He is the 9th ranked weak-side defensive end in the class.

At 6-5 with room to add more weight, Isaac has the frame necessary to develop into an edge terror at the college level. His highlights show off some quickness to go along with that length, which could be a lethal combination. Whoever lands Isaac will have some work to do in the weight room, but it appears that the raw tools are definitely there for the Brooklyn product.
