The Tennessee Volunteers already have one five-star tackle committed to their 2019 class. Is it possible that they could land another? That remains to be seen, but the Vols are at least in the running for another premier talent on the offensive line. It’s Huntington, West Virginia’s Darnell Wright.

The 6-6, 320 pound prospect has a five-star billing and is currently the second highest rated player in the 2019 class, according to Rivals. He is perhaps the highest remaining target on Tennessee’s recruiting board.

Wright’s recruitment is still going strong, but the big tackle prospect did give us a top ten today.

Tennessee joined Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, North Carolina, Ohio State, Penn State and USC in Wright’s top choices. Wright visited Tennessee on March 24th and on June 1st this year.

Ohio State currently holds the lead for Wright in 247’s crystal ball projections with Tennessee and Alabama following behind.

The Vols already have five-star tackle Wanya Morris committed. Four-star guard Jackson Lampley and three-star tackle Chris Akporoghene are also committed to Tennessee’s 2019 class. Jeremy Pruitt’s focus on the trenches has been clear and much needed. We’ll see if they can stay in the hunt for Wright until the end.
