The 1998 season may have started off with a come-from-behind win in the final seconds against a top-20 Syracuse team on the road, but it wasn’t until Tennessee’s week two, overtime win over No. 2 Florida that a national championship season was a possibility.
The 2018 season marks the 20th anniversary of the Vols perfect 13-0 finish that accumulated in an SEC title and national title over No. 2 Florida State in the Fiesta Bowl. Because of this, it’s only fitting that Tennessee will honor the 1998 team at Neyland Stadium during their week four clash with Florida.
The decision to honor the team was announced via twitter on Friday.
The kings return.

If there wasn’t already enough motivation for when Dan Mullen and the rival Gators come to Knoxville, having Tennessee’s last national championship squad in attendance should make for a fun environment.
The Vols will take on Florida on Sept. 22 with a time yet to be announced.
