Four-star cornerback Tyus Fields commits to Tennessee

The second cornerback commit in as many days.

Tennessee has landed their second cornerback commitment in as many days. After landing three-star Warren Burrell on Friday, four-star Tyus Fields has decided to join him in Knoxville.

The 5-10, 182 pound cornerback is out of Cornelius, North Carolina. He is a four-star recruit, according to 247 Sports. His is the 217th ranked prospect in the country and the 23rd ranked cornerback. The Vols beat out Clemson, who held two crystal ball projections for Fields. Fields held offers from Ohio State, Clemson, LSU, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Florida State and South Carolina.

Fields has two interceptions to his credit in each of the last two seasons at Hough High School.

So after going half of the recruiting year without a commitment at their biggest position of need, Jeremy Pruitt now has two pledges at cornerback. Fields — now the fifth highest rated commit in the class — has now jumped Tennessee up to 12th nationally in the recruiting rankings.
