The cornerback needy Tennessee Volunteers don’t yet have an answer at the position in their 2019 class, but that could be set to change soon. Suwanee, Georgia’s William Burrell narrowed his choices down to three yesterday, eliminating Auburn from contention.
Tennessee survived the cut, along with N.C. State and Florida.

The 6-0, 166 pound cornerback is rated as a three-star prospect by 247 Sports. He is the 44th ranked cornerback in the nation and the 471st ranked player overall in the 2019 class.
Burrell took three official visits in the month of June, seeing each of his three finalists. The Gators saw Burrell last, hosting the cornerback on June 22nd. He last visited Knoxville on June 8th.
Tennessee has been trending for Burrell since that visit, picking up several crystal ball projections. The Vols now own each of the six projections for the Georgia cornerback.
Burrell is on record saying that he plans to commit in the month of July. If Tennessee is able to land him, that would give the Vols their 6th commitment out of the state of Georgia in 2019.
