Another top in-state talent has decided to head west. Murfreesboro, Tennessee’s Woodi Washington committed to the Oklahoma Sooners on Friday, taking a cornerback target off the board for Jeremy Pruitt and the Vols.

The 5-11, 175 pound cornerback will now head to the Big 12 to face some of the most potent passing attacks in the country. Washington is rated as a four-star, top 200 prospect by 247 Sports. He is currently ranked as the 20th cornerback in the 2019 class.
Oklahoma got in relatively late with Washington, offering him back in March. Tennessee was one of the first to offer Washington last summer, but never really seemed to gain much traction.
Washington is the 4th ranked prospect out of the state of Tennessee. It’s a double-whammy for the Vols, considering Washington plays the position that the Vols need help at the most.
However, Tennessee seems to be in decent shape with cornerback targets like Cameron Smith, Elijah Blades, Devin Bush, Tyus Fields, Jaydon Hill and Warren Burrell. Surely that need in the defensive backfield will be filled soon.
