Tennessee has landed their 13th commitment of the 2019 cycle this afternoon, gaining a pledge from tackle Chris Akporoghene. Akporoghene announced his commitment via this video on Twitter.

According to Rivals, Akporoghene is a four-star prospect. The 6-5, 280 pound tackle moved to the United State two years ago from Nigeria, picking up football just 24 months ago. He enrolled in an East Tennessee high school and picked up on the sport quickly. After emerging as one of the top offensive line prospects in the state, Akporoghene moved south to the IMG Academy. He will play his final year of high school ball in the state of Florida, now as a Tennessee commit.

Akporoghene didn’t pick up an offer from Tennessee until June 12th, following a camp performance. That offer was enough for him as he chose the Vols over Texas, Oregon, Duke and Nebraska.

The commitment gives Tennessee their third offensive lineman of the cycle, joining five-star Wanya Morris and four-star Jackson Lampley. Rivals places Akporoghene as the third highest rated commit of the 2019 class.
