Tennessee is a finalist for 2019 point guard Issac McBride

The Vols have a need at the position.

Just nine days after Tennessee offered point guard Issac McBride, the Vols were named to his top four. McBride trimmed his list down to four on Monday, including the Vols alongside of Kansas, Auburn and TCU.

McBride is a three-star prospect out of Little Rock, Arkansas. He is the 341st ranked player in the 2019 class and they 47th ranked point guard. His three-star billing didn’t hinder him from picking up offers from a few of the top programs in America, which is interesting.

The 6-1, 170 pound McBride had a busy month of July, adding offers from Kansas, Wichita State, Oklahoma State, SMU and Loyola-Chicago.

With his list now down to four, Tennessee now has a decent chance to add some depth at point guard. Both Lamonte Turner and Jordan Bone are entering their junior seasons, but Tennessee doesn’t have much behind them. Adding some youth into the equation would solve that depth issue for 2019-20, as well as keep the pipeline moving for the future.
