Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt took to the podium for his fall camp press conference this afternoon. He offered several updates on key players, updating their post-summer statuses. Here are the highlights.
- Chance Hall is ready to go, but will be eased back into things. “I know he is really itching to get going. We have a plan and we are going to execute that plan,” Pruitt said.
- Trey Smith will cleared for contact around August 20th. As Chris Low reported on Tuesday, Smith can participate in non-contact drills until then. As for what position he will play, Pruitt wouldn’t commit to anything. He did say that he hopes to keep him in the same spot throughout the season, however.
- J.J. Peterson: Pruitt noted that only one player isn’t in Knoxville yet, which is J.J. Peterson. He said that is “still working on some things and he’ll be here as soon as he can get it done.”
- Jauan Jennings will be limited to start camp, Pruitt confirmed. He said that they will limit his reps throughout camp.
- Todd Kelly Jr. is a “full go” after missing much of the 2017 season with a knee injury. That’s good news for a secondary group that could use the veteran presence.
