The Tennessee Volunteers have been busy putting together their top-15 ranked 2019 recruiting class over the last couple of months, but we haven’t heard too much about the 2020 class just yet. One name that continues to pop up is Malachi Moore, a top ranked cornerback out of Alabama.
Moore included the Vols in his top six, which he released on Thursday night. Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, LSU, Florida joined Tennessee in the top six. Clemson just sent out their offer to Moore earlier this week.
Moore is a four-star recruit — the 13th ranked cornerback prospect in the 2020 class, according to 247 Sports. The 6-0, 170 pound defensive back is out of Trussville, Alabama.
Moore visited Tennessee unofficially twice in the first half of the year, checking out Knoxville on March 29th and June 10th. He picked up an Alabama offer on June 18th after camping with the Tide, solidifying Alabama as the leader for Moore for now.
We’ll see if Pruitt’s Alabama ties come into play here as he tries to wrestle Moore away from his former boss.
