Line released for Tennessee vs. UTEP

Vols by 30?

NCAA Football: East Tennessee State at Tennessee Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports

The Tennessee Volunteers picked up an easy win over the ETSU Buccaneers last weekend, 59-3. It was a much needed tune up game to attempt to iron out some issues from the West Virginia contest.

They’ll get one more chance to do that with the UTEP Miners coming to Neyland Stadium this Saturday. Vegas once again likes the Vols by a lot, as expected.

Opening line: Tennessee -28.5

Since being posted on Sunday afternoon, the line has moved to -30, indicating plenty of early money came in on Tennessee. The reason? Well, UTEP has struggled during the first two weeks of the season.

The Miners dropped their opener to FCS Northern Arizona, 30-10. Last Saturday, UTEP dropped their second game on the season, losing 52-24 to UNLV. All of this following an 0-12 campaign in 2017.

Power five teams Oklahoma (56-7) and Arizona (63-16) beat UTEP convincingly last season. You can probably expect the Vols to do the same this week.
