Tennessee sophomore wing Yves Pons is probably the most physically gifted player on the roster. We didn’t know much about Pons when he signed with the Vols, but we did know that he could dunk with the best of them.

Pons took off — legitimately from the free throw line — and finished the dunk with relative ease.
That athletic ability didn’t translate to production in year one for Pons, who struggled to find the floor in his freshman season. Eventually, Pons was able to carve out a small role as an energy guy off the bench late in the year.
He’s got a long way to go in developing his basketball skillset, but he has what you can’t teach — explosive athleticism. It’s going to be interesting to see his role perhaps expand this season. Looking down the road a bit, Pons is a logical replacement for Admiral Schofield once his eligibility expires after this season.
Hopefully he makes the necessary gains to take that leap in 2019.
