Welcome to the toughest three game stretch stretch of the year — maybe for any team in the country. First up for Tennessee will be the Georgia Bulldogs, who are just steamrolling through the early part of their season.

Georgia passed their first test of the season by blowing out South Carolina, who had generated some hype as the second best team in the SEC East. Missouri was able to hang around with the Bulldogs, but couldn’t overcome a couple of turnovers to get the job done. Georgia ended up winning that one by two touchdowns.

Now they get Tennessee, fresh off of a game that saw them turn the ball over six times. The talent level between the Gators and the Bulldogs is significant. Kirby Smart is putting an Alabama-level roster on the field every weekend now, which is terrifying for the rest of the SEC East.

Oddsmakers have put a big number on this one, placing Tennessee as a 32.5 point underdog on Saturday against Georgia.

That’s a massive number — likely one of the biggest, if not the biggest number we’ve seen in this series. If you want some perspective to where Tennessee is as a program, MTSU opened as a 31.5 point underdog against Georgia just two weeks ago.

These are some dark times in for Tennessee football. Unfortunately, it’s going to get a little darker over the next month.
