What seemed almost impossible just a few weeks ago became possible after the Tennessee Vols defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs 20-10 on Saturday.
It was a huge moment for a program that desperately needed a meaningful win. The Vols were well on their way to another postseason at home with a loss. This win doesn’t mean the Vols are ready to go toe-to-toe with even your mediocre SEC teams, but it certainly opens the door for improvement and other possible wins down the road.
Not only did it give the program a boost, it gave Vols’ fans a slight boost in confidence, as well. As you can see below, confidence is up just a tick from last week.

I’ll be honest, I thought I’d see a rather large increase after the win, but hey, something is better than nothing, right?
There were some pretty big changes to this week’s Top 25. As you can guess, the Georgia Bulldogs dropped after the loss to South Carolina, falling all the way from 2nd to 9th. LSU jumped Clemson and Ohio State to grab the No. 2 spot and Wisconsin continues to move closer and closer to the top five. The Florida Gators also fell from 8th to 11th after the loss to LSU.
Minnesota (15th), Missouri (18th), Michigan (19th), Baylor (21st), Cincinnati (22nd), and Appalachian State (25th) were not in last week’s Top 25.
