Line released for Tennessee vs. UAB

A letdown spot for Tennessee?

It appears that the Tennessee football program has turned a corner. The Volunteers blew out the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday night, continuing a string of momentum that dates back to the Georgia matchup.

Tennessee picked up their second SEC win of the year, moving to 3-5 on the season. With Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Missouri and UAB left, the Vols suddenly have a good shot at a bowl game.

But they have to avoid a letdown against a really good UAB team. The Blazers are 6-1 and have won three in a row. Their lone loss came to Western Kentucky. Bill Clark went 11-3 last season in Birmingham and is off to another hot start again this year.

Can the Blazers challenge Tennessee on Saturday night in Neyland Stadium? The guys out in Vegas certainly think so. Tennessee opened as a ten point favorite on Sunday afternoon. That number has already moved out to 10.5.

Tennessee is 3-0 against the spread over the last three weeks, which brings them to 4-4 on the year. Are oddsmakers being too conservative on a Tennessee team which appears to be figuring a few things out? You can probably expect this line to grow as the week goes on.

Check back through the week for plenty of coverage of this one as we work towards the weekend.
