It’s basketball time in Tennessee.
The Tennessee Volunteers will be in action tonight in an exhibition matchup against Eastern New Mexico. Rick Barnes will be debuting his new look Volunteers at Thompson-Boling Arena, giving everyone a look at what life will be like without Grant Williams, Admiral Schofield, Jordan Bone and Kyle Alexander.
Lamonte Turner, Jordan Bowden and Josiah James will take charge of the program tonight, looking to continue the success of the last two seasons.
The Volunteers will play their first game that counts on Tuesday next week against UNC-Asheville. But tonight they have a chance to work some kinks out.
One thing to note — Tennessee will be without center Uros Plavsic tonight as we continue to wait to hear back from the NCAA on his waiver status. Barnes will likely start John Fulkerson at center and shift Yves Pons down to a hybrid power forward role.
