Tennessee moves up in latest College Basketball AP Poll

Moving forward.

NCAA Basketball: NC-Asheville at Tennessee Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports

An easy week that saw Tennessee crush Alabama State was enough for the Vols to grab two more spots in this week’s AP Poll. Tennessee hopped over Auburn, Villanova and Xavier to move to No. 17 ahead of Feast Week.

Florida re-entered the top 25 after getting back on track last week and picking up a win over Xavier. Kentucky held steady at No. 9.

Duke, Louisville and Michigan State held steady inside of the top three.

It’s a big week of basketball ahead for just about every team in the country. It’s tournament week, which means we’ll see tons of early tests for much of the top 25 over the next several days.

Tennessee gets Chattanooga on Monday night, then Florida State on Friday night. Depending on that result, Tennessee will then face Purdue or VCU on Saturday. The Seminoles currently sit right outside of the top 25, receiving the most amount of votes for a non-ranked team.

Purdue also received votes in the poll, while VCU checks in at No. 20 this week.
