Jimmy Holiday has been committed to TCU since August 3rd, but this morning, he’s a Tennessee Volunteer. The three-star athlete flipped during his announcement today, adding some big time speed to Tennessee’s 2020 class.
Holiday is rated as a three-star athlete, but his 4.38 second 40 yard dash offers something that you can’t teach. He was a quarterback in high school, but will likely find a home elsewhere at the next level. Holiday was a 1,000 yard passer and a 1,400 yard rusher in each of his final two seasons at Madison Central High School in Mississippi.
The 6-0, 185 pound prospect received an in-home visit from Jeremy Pruitt, Tee Martin and Jim Chaney on December 4th. This coming after his official visit back in October.
It will be interesting to see what position Holiday lands at when he arrives in Knoxville. Holiday’s highlights are filled with electric plays as a ball-carrier, but he may project best as a receiver. He may even get some looks as a defensive back.
Holiday fills a need from a speed standpoint, giving Tennessee another guy that can take the top off of a defense. Jalin Hyatt is another player with that ability. With Marquez Callaway, Tyler Byrd and Jauan Jennings exiting the program, opportunities could certainly be there on the receiver depth chart.
