After preliminary cuts, Tennessee is still in the running for four-star cornerback Henry Gray. The fourth-ranked cornerback in the nation announced a top eight over the weekend, which included the Vols.

Florida, Georgia, Penn State, Kentucky, Ohio State, Clemson and Auburn joined Tennessee on Gray’s list.
The 5-11, 172 pound defensive back is the 51st ranked prospect in the country, according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings. Gray is out of Miami, Florida. The hometown Hurricanes didn’t make his top eight, however. Gray decommitted from Miami in December and the Hurricanes remain out of the picture even after an unofficial visit.
Clemson and Ohio State have received votes in 247’s crystal ball projections early in the process. The Tigers and Buckeyes do seem to be the leaders for Gray at this point, with others trying to get him on campus.
Tennessee signed Tyus Fields and Warren Burrell in their 2019 class, adding to a young core of Alontae Taylor and Bryce Thompson. With Gray, they’re at least hanging around in the picture for now.
