What had been rumored for months is now official. LeDarrius Cox will not be a part of Tennessee’s 2019 class, flipping to Ole Miss this morning.
The three-star defensive tackle had been rumored to Auburn for some time, dating all the way back to the fall. Cox remained committed to Tennessee, but kept his recruitment open throughout the process. It’s been rumored that the Tennessee coaching staff cooled on him following his senior season.
Cox is the 601st ranked player in the country, according to 247 Sports. The 6-5, 300 pound tackle took official visits to Tennessee, Auburn and Ole Miss over the last month before ultimately landing with Ole Miss. He had been committed to the Vols since April 4th, 2018.
Up front defensively, Tennessee signed four-star JUCO Savion Williams, three-star Darel Middleton and three-star Elijah Simmons during the early period this year. Set to lose three starters on the defensive line from 2018, those three may get some early looks at playing time. Tennessee will be relying on their class of 2018 additions (Greg Emerson, Emmit Gooden, John Mincey, Kurott Garland and Kingston Harris) to make a big difference in 2019.
