For the first time in a good bit, it’s fun to be a Tennessee fan. The Vols are dominating on the basketball court, sitting at the top of the college basketball world as the No. 1 team in the country. Making things even better today, Jeremy Pruitt finished up an outstanding recruiting class, landing a handful of elite prospects despite coming off of a 5-7 record.
According to Jeremy Pruitt, Tennessee basketball being in the spotlight certainly didn’t hurt his chances with top prospects across the country.
“I think you have to have success in all sports,” Pruitt said when speaking to the media on signing day. “I think one of the big selling points for us right now that has helped us in recruiting has been our men’s basketball team. Everywhere I go, people want to talk about our basketball team. I think that’s a great thing, putting Tennessee on the map and building the brand again.”
At Tennessee’s signing day event tonight, Pruitt explained further.
#Vols coach Jeremy Pruitt: I lost count of how many times I’ve walked in to talk to a recruit and the TV showed our basketball team kicking somebody’s ass. I love it. I love those guys.

It’s nice to have some momentum rolling on both fronts. It’s also awesome to see Jeremy Pruitt taking advantage of Rick Barnes’ success. This Tennessee basketball team is one of the most likable teams in all of sports right now — why not use that?
