Not even two full days removed from national signing day, Tennessee is making a move on the coaching staff. According to John Brice, Terry Fair and Tennessee have parted ways.
#BREAKING Multiple people on campus tell me that @Vol_Football will part ways with #VFL Terry Fair, barring “completely unforeseen circumstances. Office being cleaned out.” #Vols are expected to shuffle defensive staff duties as well & already targeting a new secondary coach.

Fair was a part of Jeremy Pruitt’s initial staff at Tennessee.
Safeties coach Charles Kelly left for Alabama last month following the addition of Tee Martin. Kelly’s departure got Tennessee back to ten on the field coaches, which is the maximum allowed. Fair’s departure takes them to nine, meaning the Vols will be in the hunt for a new secondary coach.
Fair played at Tennessee from 1994-1997. He coached defensive backs at Colorado State before arriving back at Tennessee in 2018.
UPDATE: Now we know why.
Tennessee has reportedly hired Derrick Ansley to replace Fair.
