Tennessee falls to No. 8 in AP Poll following loss to Auburn

The good news is, the polls don’t matter anymore.

NCAA Basketball: Tennessee at Auburn John Reed-USA TODAY Sports

Tennessee’s sloppy second half at Auburn on Saturday afternoon cost them three more spots in the AP Poll today. The Vols, who sit at 27-4, fell to No. 8 in the polls today, getting jumped by Texas Tech, Kentucky and Michigan State.

LSU, which secured the regular season SEC title on Saturday night, moved up to 9th.

The good news is, these polls don’t mean a thing. Tennessee picked up the No. 3 seed in this week’s SEC Tournament and will play the winner of Mississippi State vs. Vanderbilt/Texas A&M. A win there likely means another matchup with Kentucky, who moved up to 4th in the AP Poll today.
