Tennessee’s win on Saturday over the Kentucky Wildcats had most of us thinking No. 1 seed. But the Vols came out unfocused and sloppy on Sunday against the Auburn Tigers, who picked up their second win over Tennessee in as many weeks.
The result is a continuation of Tennessee’s SEC Tournament curse — along with a No. 2 seed in next week’s NCAA Tournament.

So Tennessee heads north to Columbus to face Colgate on Friday. A potential second round matchup with Cincinnati looms, however. The Bearcats get to play in their home state, fresh off of an AAC title run and a 12 point win over Houston.
Virginia captures the top seed in the south. Here’s a look at their draw and the rest of the region.

For what it’s worth, Tennessee was the 5th overall seed, just missing out on a No. 1 seed.
