No. 7 Tennessee will get a visit from the No. 4 Kentucky Wildcats today on CBS at Thompson-Boling Arena. These two teams squared off just two weeks ago in Lexington, with the Wildcats crushing the then No. 1 Vols.
This one will have a little different feel, however. Veteran leader Reid Travis is likely out today with a knee injury he suffered last week. The Wildcats certainly have the talent to win without him, but that’s a big loss to their front line — which quite frankly punished Tennessee in Lexington.
PJ Washington still stands in the way of Grant Williams though. The sophomore forward has gotten the better of Williams in his games against him to this point. Grant has a chance to change that narrative today — and Tennessee needs him to in order to walk away with a win.
This game may serve as an elimination game of sorts in the SEC regular season title race. It’s likely one of Tennessee’s final chances to hop back into the No. 1 seed conversation as well.
All that to say — this is a big one. Enjoy it in the comments below.
