Five-star wing Corey Walker commits to Tennessee

Another win for Tennessee.

Yesterday’s win over Kentucky may lead to multiple recruiting wins in the future for Rick Barnes and Tennessee. The first one came this afternoon.

Corey Walker has committed to Tennessee fresh off his visit to Knoxville on Saturday, according to 247’s Evan Daniels.

Walker was a part of the massive group of elite talent to visit Tennessee this weekend.

According to 247 Sports, Walker is a five-star prospect. He checks in at 23rd overall in the 2020 class — the sixth ranked small forward in the country. Walker stands in at 6-6, 185 pounds and is out of Jacksonville, Florida.

Walker is the first commitment of the 2020 class.

Tennessee picked up a few crystal ball projections for Walker over the last month. Today we realized just how much momentum the Vols had with Walker. He is the second highest rated commitment of the Rick Barnes era, trailing only 2019 five-star guard Josiah James.

Suddenly, criticisms surrounding Rick Barnes’ ability to recruit at Tennessee have vanished. That’s his second five-star pickup and he’s got a chance to add more in Jaden Springer and Walker Kessler later in this cycle.
