Weight changes
A theme since Jeremy Pruitt arrived at Tennessee was simply getting bigger. The Vols struggled through the 2018 season with players who may not have exactly fit the system from a size standpoint. That’s still a work in progress. After a quick look through the roster, here’s what stood out.
- Greg Emerson (DL) is up to 310 pounds.
- Kivon Bennett (OLB) is down to 251 pounds, better suiting his outside role.
- Kurrott Garland (DL) is up to 303 pounds, which means he gained nearly 30 pounds since the fall.
- Marcus Tatum and Nathan Niehaus (OL) are up over 300 pounds.
- John Mincey (DL) is up to 280 pounds after playing in the 260s last season.
