Five-star receiver Rakim Jarrett ‘loves it’ at Tennessee, plans return trip

Seems like the Vols made some progress here.

Now in his third recruiting cycle, Jeremy Pruitt continues to get elite prospects on campus at Tennessee. He and his all-star recruiting staff continue to make big impressions, too.

Five-star wide receiver Rakim Jarrett is the latest top prospect to come away impressed with Knoxville. Tennessee got the Washington D.C. product on campus for the opening of spring practice this week. According to a tweet from Jarrett, he wants to see more.

Jarrett included Tennessee in his top six schools back in December.

Ohio State seemed to take an early lead for Jarrett, but a few SEC schools are coming on strong. Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama and LSU are all in the mix right now. Jarrett saw Georgia in February.

For Tennessee, Jarrett is a big position of need with Marquez Callaway and Jauan Jennings playing in their final seasons. After a few misses in 2018, the Vols will need a few players at the receiver position during this cycle. New receivers coach Tee Martin should help plenty with that.

Jarrett is 6-0, 182 pounds and is rated as a five-star prospect by 247 Sports. He’s the second ranked receiver and the 17th overall prospect in the 2020 class.
