Coming off of what could be a season-defining series win against No. 2 Georgia over the weekend, one player who’s own performance helped No. 25 Tennessee clinch the series on Saturday was recognized by the SEC earlier this week.
On Monday, junior RHP Garrett Stallings was named Pitcher of the Week by the SEC league office in Birmingham, Ala.

Stallings became the second Tennessee pitcher to earn such honors this season after fellow junior RHP Zach Linginfelter was named Pitcher of the Week back on Feb. 25.
Against Georgia, Stallings pitched a complete game shutout, giving up just five hits and keeping the Bulldogs off of the board in a 3-0, series-clinching win.
With the win, Stallings improved to 6-2 on the mound this season, which places him second in the league. His earned run average currently sits at 1.88, good for eighth best in the SEC.
Tennessee (26-11, 6-9 SEC) will face Morehead State on Tuesday before traveling to Lexington for a three-game slate with Kentucky.
