Tennessee has made another top five list on the recruiting trail, making the cut for three-star cornerback Andru Phillips out of Mauldin, South Carolina. The 5-11, 180 pound defensive back released his top five on Friday, including the Vols, along with Louisville, Virginia Tech, Kentucky and N.C. State.
First off I want to say thank you to all the coaches and teams who have recruited me throughout this tough recruiting process... but these are my top 5️⃣ teams

Phillips is the 719th ranked player in the 2020 class, according to 247 Sports. He is the 11th ranked player in the state of South Carolina and the 57th rated cornerback in the overall class.
He earned his Tennessee offer on March 3rd and visited just a few weeks later during spring practices. The Vols were a little late to the party in this case, but that didn’t deter them from making Phillips’ top five though.
Kentucky is the likely leader here, earning Phillips’ only crystal ball projection to this point. The Wildcats offered him last summer and have hosted him on campus a handful of times already. Phillips has also seen South Carolina, Clemson, Louisville, N.C. State and Virginia Tech in recent weeks.
Phillips doubles as a track and field star for Mauldin. That athleticism absolutely shows up on tape. It’s easy to see why Tennessee is interested, despite Phillips lacking prototypical ‘Pruitt DB’ size.
