It has been an eventful start to the week for the Vols on the recruiting trail. Early on Monday, long time target Tate Ratledge committed to Georgia over the Tennessee. Just hours later, the Vols landed a commitment from JUCO corner Art Green. Now, they have extended an offer to Mississippi State commit Emmanuel Forbes Jr.
Forbes announced the offer via twitter Monday afternoon. He said that he is “blessed and extremely grateful” to receive an offer to play at Tennessee.

The 6-1, 185 pound corner is a three star per 247sports composite ratings, though rivals has him as a four star. He is the 870th-ranked player in the 2020 class — the 65th-ranked corner in the nation and the 21st-ranked player in Mississippi.
Tennessee became just the ninth school to offer Forbes, but he has been committed to the Bulldogs since February 10th.
Forbes hails from Grenada, Mississippi where he plays at Grenada high school. He plays both corner and receiver and could be utilized at either position at the next level, though the most natural fit is in the secondary.
While he may not be overly fast — he runs a 4.64 40’— he can jump with anyone in the SEC. An already 44 inch vertical combined with his height and length makes it nearly impossible to throw the jump ball on him. Forbes is a fast and physical cover corner with very good instincts. He has elite ball skills, and the only thing holding him back from being a blue chip prospect is his speed. He can also be a valuable asset on special teams.
Forbes currently looks like he is a pretty solid commit to Mississippi State, but Tennessee is the best offer he has received to date. There is still plenty of time left in this cycle to see that narrative change.
