UPDATE: North Carolina and UNC Wilmington are currently in a rain delay in the 9th inning. Tennessee and Liberty will follow.
UNC and UNC-Wilmington are scheduled to resume at 8:50 p.m. ET.
The Tennessee Volunteers are back in the NCAA Baseball Tournament for the first time since 2005. The Vols earned a No. 2 seed in the Chapel Hill regional, drawing the No. 3 seed Liberty Flames in the opening game.
The winner of this one will take on the winner of North Carolina vs. UNC Wilmington on Saturday. Tennessee landed in North Carolina’s region, who brought home the 14th overall seed nationally. The Tar Heels are the likely opponent for the Vols, if they can take care of business on Friday. If they can’t, it’s not the end of the world. The regionals are double-elimination, which you can see the full schedule of below.
