Every year in recruiting, prospects fall through the cracks. It’s inevitable. It’s always fun to see word get out on a kid and to watch the offers flood in. That’s what has happened of the last week to Peach State receiver Sam Brown.
The 6-3, 185 pound prospect is currently billed as the 997th prospect in the 2020 class, according to 247 Sports. That’s due for a change, however. Over the past several days, Brown has picked up offers from Kentucky, Oregon, Cincinnati, Michigan, Syracuse and West Virginia.
You can now add Tennessee to that list.

Why the sudden spike in offers? Brown showed out at The Opening regionals in Charlotte a couple of weeks back, running a 4.45 40 yard dash at 6-3. That alone is going to net several offers. Brown ended up checking in with the third highest test score for all receivers at his regional in Charlotte.

The offers are likely to continue for Brown, who has seen his entire recruiting process change in recent days.
Tennessee needs multiple signings at the receiver position as they are set to lose Jauan Jennings, Marquez Callaway, Tyler Byrd and Brandon Johnson after this season. It’s tough to gauge where Brown’s recruiting process will go from here, but this is certainly a noteworthy offer to keep an eye on over the next few months.
