It’s officially NBA Draft week, meaning we have just a few more days until we find out where Grant Williams, Admiral Schofield and Jordan Bone will land. That trio led Tennessee to the No. 1 spot in the AP Poll for four weeks, a regular season SEC title and two SEC Tournament championship game appearances.
Now they’ll move on to the NBA, giving Tennessee fans a new rooting interest in the league for the first time since Josh Richardson and Tobias Harris.
Draft projections have firmly settled in for Grant Williams. He could go just about anywhere from pick 20-35. Admiral Schofield is in a similar range, likely coming off of the board anywhere from 25-45. Jordan Bone opened a lot of eyes at the NBA Combine and has now begun to sneak into the back-half of the second round in some mock drafts.
In ESPN’s latest, all three Tennessee players came off of the board.
Grant Williams: 30 to the Bucks
Admiral Schofield: 38 to the Bulls
Jordan Bone: 57 to the Pelicans
Williams landing with the Bucks would be a fun fit. Milwaukee should be set to contend for titles for years to come with Giannis Antetokounmpo on the roster. Bone would get to help usher in a new era in New Orleans after the Anthony Davis trade, coming into the league with Zion Williamson.
Kyle Alexander will also head to the league, but isn’t being projected as a draft pick. The 6-11 center has had plenty of workouts with NBA teams, however. He’s a likely undrafted free agent that will find a new team on Thursday night or Friday morning.
The NBA Draft will be held on Thursday (June 20th) at 7 p.m. ET and will be carried by ESPN.
