Tennessee has made headlines over the last couple of weeks at the quarterback position. The Vols are in the mix with Haynes King, one of the top quarterbacks in the 2020 cycle, despite holding a currently commitment from Harrison Bailey, who is also one of the highest ranked passers in the 2020 class.
Today, they’ve landed in the top six of 2021 quarterback Brock Vandagriff. In the video below, Tennessee was joined by Oklahoma, Auburn, Georgia, Florida and Clemson.

Vandagriff explained why Tennessee made his top six to Rivals.
“Tennessee is in my top six because I like the environment coach Jeremy Pruitt has built. He is steadily changing the culture of Rocky Top. Coach Chris Weinke is a great guy, and a guy I would like to continue to coach me throughout college. I like the location and I have family that lives in Knoxville, which is another plus.”
Vandagriff noted that he grew up as an Auburn fan and has had to “throw his feelings out the window” with the Tigers as he tries to find his best fit. He called Georgia special because they are “10 minutes from the house.”
The quarterback out of Georiga ranks as the 4th pro-style passer in the 2021 class, according to 247 Sports. He’s the 35th overall player so far in the class, checking in as a four-star prospect. Vandagriff stands in at 6-2, 199 pounds.
Tennessee offered Vandagriff a year ago after a camp performance in Knoxville. He returned for a visit in the fall during the ETSU game, then took in spring practice back in March.
Both Georgia and Oklahoma hold one crystal ball projection for Vandagriff currently.
