Tennessee is set to host a 2020 target on an official visit this weekend. Mordecai McDaniel, a three-star prospect out of Washington, DC, will see Knoxville for the first time on Friday.
Official visit up Tennessee this weekend !— Mordecai McDaniel (@S3NSI_CAI) June 4, 2019
McDaniel is a higher ranked three-star prospect, landing inside of 247 Sports’ top 400 prospects. He’s ranked as an athlete, playing both at receiver and defensive back. McDaniel is the 26th ranked athlete in the 2020 class. He’s a high school teammate of Tennessee target Rakim Jarrett, a five-star receiver who is currently committed to LSU.
Despite his status as a three-star prospect, McDaniel holds plenty of high profile offers. Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Penn State, LSU and Notre Dame are just a few of the offers on the table.
McDaniel has already taken two official visits to this point, taking a look at both Florida and Notre Dame. Tennessee will be his third of possible official visits. The 6-1, 195 pound athlete is being recruited by Tennessee defensive coordinator Derrick Ansley and defensive line coach Tracy Rocker.
McDaniel’s electric speed is on display below in his highlights. Not only could he play both side of the ball on the football field, but he doubles as a track star as well. That speed offers instant value as a return man.
With Tennessee getting one of his officials, McDaniels is one to watch closely this summer.
